English Grammar Question?
Is this a run-on or a complete sentence? I can’t seem to tell because it sounds funny…
The pipe burst water flooded the basement and ruined the camping equipments we had stores there.

Try this:
The pipe burst, causing water to flood the basement where our equiptment was stored.

The pipe burst. Water flooded the basement and ruined the camping equipments we had stored there.
Or…
The pipe in the basement burst, flooding the floor and ruining the camping supplies that were stored there.

firstly, this sentence is grammetically incorrect. it should have sounded something like…………
When the pipe burst, water flooded the basement and ruined the camping equipment we had stored there. in this case, it seems like a complete sentence

It is a run-on sentence.
It is actually two sentences:
The pipe burst. Water flooded the basement and ruined the camping equipment we had stored there. (NOT stores there)

Definitely RUN ON!! How I would put it:
The pipe burst. Water flooded the basement and ruined the camping equipment NO S!) we had stored (NOT S!) there.

it does sound funny but because of the period it is a complete question.

Yes,it is a run-on sentence. Put periods andcapitals in it until it doesn’t sound funny anymore. For example… The pipe burst.

Or you can try:
The basement flooded and ruined the camping equipment we had stored because a pipe busted.

Nope, just plain ungrammatical. You might rewrite it as:
When the pipe burst, water flooded the basement – ruining the camping equipment we has stored there.

It is a complete, complex sentence- also missing the proper punctuation. There should be a comma between the words burst and water, basement and and. It could also be simplified or broken into two sentences. Also, there is an unneccessary “s” at the end of the word equipment, and there should be a “d” instead of “s” at the end of stores. Equipment is understood to be a plural noun already, as it is a collective noun. More info than you can stand, huh?

That is a complete sentence.
