Loads of beer, a tent, cheese and onion crisps, rolls and tuna mayo and a bit of grass to put your tent on. Sorted. And cigerettes (if you smoke).

My absolute must have when camping is antibacterial handwash. This is a liquid soap that can be used without water. Indispensable.

a tent, string, camping stove, mobile phone, groundsheet (useful even if your tent has one, as you can use it to sit on outside) camping chairs, sleeping bag, blanket, probably waterproofs if you are in the uk, torch, water in big bottles so you can take it to your tent, toothbrush, suncream, hairbrush, flip flops, tougher shoes.
    think that’s it!
    have a great time.

Tent, ground mats, sleeping bag, toilet roll, large bottle water, small camping stove, a cooking vessel, change of socks, minimal clothes changes you’re camping! towel. That should do oh don’t forget food and marshmallows and if you want to make fire lighting easy bring firelighters, cheat!

    • Tent
    • Sleeping bag
    • Inflatable mattress or underpad for sleeping bag
    • Cooler with ice packs and food
    • Pocket knife
    • Hatchet
    • A camping stove, or if you’re going to be cooking by fire… newspaper!
    • Matches or a lighter
    • First aid kit
    • Insect repellant
    • Hat and sunscreen
    • Beach towel
    • Shoes, sandals and boots
    • Enough clothes so that you can last a week without doing laundry
    • Rain coat
    • A warm set of clothes for those chilly nights

If it’s going to be very wet, then I suggest some synthetic fabrics instead of cotton… because when it’s drenched, cotton takes forever to dry.

Check the site regulations where you propose to camp, many of them now insist on breathable groundsheets due to the older plastic/rubberised ones killing the grass. Hope the rain stays away!!

I always forget either a bottle opener or can opener! Also make sure you got a water container and washing up bowl, carrier bags for rubbish – sounds numb but works trust me! Disposable bar-b-q’s are handy.

If the battery in your torch goes t.lights are great just don’t burn the tent down. Loo roll incase they run out. Cd Player and a book.Bin bags incase the weather turns dreadful handy for all kinds. Wind jammer helpful too.

For me one of the great things about camping is cooking and eating out-doors. I reckon its worth planning a menu for each meal, and taking with you everything you need to cook that menu. think about pans, cutlery, stove, gas, or fire lighters, cool box, cig lighter, grass,
booze, bread, spuds, veggies burgers/sausages, chili and rice,
steak and kidney pud, water carrier, a plank to use as a table, washing up bowl, sharp knives, cork ***** and bottle opener,

Wish I was going. Where do you plan to pitch?

Go to the local Boy Scout office or contact a troop leader, they will be glad to help.

Why make it hard on yourself?
