Need camping food/cooking help?

Hi I would like to go camping sometime, but haven’t gone since I was a kid. I could use a lot of help with the storage and preparation of food. The trip will only be about 24-48hrs. Show up like friday afternoon and leave saturday or sunday around the same time. I need to know what to buy as far as coolers/storage and cooking equipment. (inexpensive but reliable) What are good foods to prepare for all meals. Breakfast would include eggs and some sort of meat. Whats the best way to store eggs/meat/milk/whatever. I am really clueless when it comes to this and want to make a good impression. Thanks

Experienced Horse Savvy People Help Please?

I am looking to buy two or three horses. They will be used for daily riding over various types of terrain for my husband and myself; the third would be for any extra gear and as an extra riding horse to help keep the others fresh. Essentially, we’ll be camping out and traveling by horseback as we make our way around the countryside.

Now then, as for my inquiries…I am wondering what kind of care and equipment is essential for a nomadic kind of lifestyle for a horse. I won’t have access to a farrier or vet very often if at all and I want to make sure I care for them to the best of my ability. Also, would a diet of the wild vegetation be suitable or would I need to make alternate provision? Lastly, I’m looking for a sure-footed, sturdy breed that would survive and do well in varying climates. I’m not sure what the best kind would be though.

I should note that I do have riding experience, I’ve just never owned a horse before and want to make sure I will be caring for them properly.

Any additional advice is more than welcome. Thank you.
To clear up some misconceptions – I am not doing this just because I think it will be fun or because it’s some dream of mine. If and when my husband and I set out in this manner, it will be out of the utmost necessity. I am simply trying to prepare as best I can for it.

This won’t be happening right away because we don’t have the thousands of dollars it will take, nor do I have enough experience. The whole point of my question was to figure out where to begin in doing my homework so to speak…to have a base plan to start with and go from there.

Hopefully knowing that I’m no fool will help put some of your minds at ease. To those who gave information as I asked, thank you. I very much appreciate it.
